I personally think that Kuta Beach is the most famous beach in Bali, especially for beginner surfers. I think that it is mostly popular because of the sunset, near to the airport and surrounded by local and international shops, if we are speaking geographically.
It was on the same day when I visited Pandawa Beach because the location is not so far by car (around 30 minutes). Dreamland Beach is located in Pecatu, South Kuta. I was having high expectation on this beach during sunset time especially after I went to Pandawa Beach. But I guess Dreamland Beach is not so dreamy after all.
I was in Bali! Finally I got a break from work (or more like internship) and escape to one of the jewel of Indonesia. The first beach I visit when I was in Bali is Pandawa Beach (Pantai Pandawa). It’s located at the south of Bali. It was my first time there. I was lucky enough to get the beautiful sky and weather as it was a disaster, scary waves around one week before I went to bali. But the waves are calmer now and you get both kind of blue.
I was lucky enough to experience a nice time in Armor Kopi before they close it (don’t know when they will re-open). Located inside the Djuanda Forest Park, Armor Kopi has been an oasis in the middle of tall, towering trees. To be honest, I’m not a coffee enthusiast, don’t drink coffee exaggerately and don’t know if a coffee taste good or not, but I’m sure it’s either the great selection of coffee they sell or the best location of a coffee shop can be. Another golden moment from this place was eating cireng and banana friters and sipping coffee (or tea in my case).
This place is a must-go for culinary purpose. Floating Market in Lembang is famous for their floating boats where they sell diverse food and beverages. Yet, when I visited this heaven for foodie, it is more than just food market. I would say Lembang Floating Market is a place you can experience Indonesian culture by food, fun activities, and shopping. One thing that amazed me the most is how clean this site is. If you’re Indonesian or have been in Indonesia for a long time, you know how infamous the cleanliness of Indonesia, especially at crowded tourist attraction. You’re in the right place if you want to bringing your kids to do entertaining interactions, or just simply want to try different kind of Indonesian food at one place.
I planned a weekend getaway with my cousins to Bandung. It is one of the closest location from hectic Jakarta. I found this accommodation through groupon.co.id and it was one hella great deal. Sapulidi Resort is an old resort and was very popular back in the days. They are famous for their ‘sampan’ (wood canoe) in their little lake and their restaurant where you can eat in a gazebo surrounded by paddy field.
I visited Kampung Daun (Kampung means village, Daun means leaf, now it sound like Naruto’s Leaf Village hahaha) with my cousins. This ‘leaf village’ is located in Lembang, Bandung and it is a restaurant where your table comes with a gazebo. It is amazing for the waiters for them to carry food and drinks around the village where all the tables, or should I say gazebos, are far apart.
Situ Patenggang or Situ Patengan, located in Ciwidey, Bandung Region, is a lake and famous with their myth. But what I’m fascinated by is the spacious green tea plantation next to the lake. It felt like I was in the Willy Wonka’s factory, you know where everythings’ edible. What sadden me was the cloudy then rainy weather. Good thing that I was able to take pictures before it rained.
One of the must-visit nearby attraction while I was glamping in Legok Kondang Lodge. Kawah Putih means white crater. Located about 5 km deep further from the Kawah Putih entrance, you will find the famous blue volcanic crater lake.
Recently, I did Glamping in Glamping Legok Kondang Lodge, just outskirt of Bandung, West Java. Glamping is shortened from Glamour Camping where it is more glamorous & a bit more luxurious than normal camping. I stayed only for two days, one night which is during the weekend. Legok Kondang was a perfect getaway to travel from the busy Jakarta. For me, a weekend to do glamping is just enough period of time to feel revived. Not too long or too short. It is an absolute nature haven for travelers.
